And in the blink of an eye, we have reached December already!
I went to a beautiful church service this morning where the atmosphere was certainly very Christmassy - I had missed the memo about wearing a Christmas jumper, so I felt decidedly underdressed! The trees were beautifully twinkly and there was a true sense of anticipation in the worship throughout the service.
Which is what Advent is, isn't it - the anticipation and waiting...
"Let every heart, prepare Him room" as the joyful carol suggests.
We all know this season to be a busy one, and maybe you, like me every year, endeavour to avoid the hustle, bustle and speed of the weeks leading to Christmas. But no matter which way we turn, everything seems to have the dial turned to maximum for overload - I truly don't think I am alone in feeling that, am I? And doesn't that somehow take some of the joy away from the anticipation and waiting?
I have an Advent playlist of Christmas music. It's my own eclectic mix so admittedly, there are some traditional Christmas songs (think Michael Buble!) some carols, some beautiful choral arrangements and some classical music orchestral arrangements (of which my Dad would greatly approve!) but there are also some more contemporary worship songs. So my aim is to listen and meditate on one piece of music each day and write my thoughts in my journal. As I often listen to music at work, the gym and as I make jewellery, I will hopefully remember those thoughts with each passing day as the anticipation of Christmas grows and that special day draws nearer.
It's a plan at least!
Full disclosure, it has been a busy couple of weeks in Poema HQ, so I have had to prioritise my Advent intentions to ensure it actually happens!
As you may remember, I have had a series of Open House events. I loved each one! Some were quieter, some were busier, but they were all such a joy! A joy to chat and share what I love to do with all who kindly came to support me.

If this was you, THANK YOU - I danced many a happy dance! xx
If you're still looking for a gift for that special someone, I do have a selection of earrings and necklaces available. I'll be featuring a few each day on social media (Facebook or Instagram) or you can have a look at Poema on Etsy.
Though if you're local to me (SO50 postcode), consider sending me a message or email - everything on Etsy includes postage and with postal strikes and delays, collecting something directly from me may be a viable option for you.
And I truly hope you're finding time and space to reflect on the significance of Advent and waiting for the greatest gift we will ever know...
