Sweetness for my soul

Writer's picture: poemapoema

Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul

and healthy for the body.

Proverbs 16:24

I’ve been reminded of these words in Proverbs recently. Mainly because I’ve been the recipient of kind words which were both unexpected and beautiful.

A few customers have taken the time to send emails or messages because they have been pleased with their jewellery and honestly, it’s been such an encouragement!

When I sit at my bench making jewellery with the silver that’s in my hands, it’s truly humbling to hear that what I make has significance and meaning to the one who wears it. I don’t always discover the stories but when I do, I am touched to know how meaningful and special their jewellery is to them.

It’s an honour and a joy to be a part of that.

"The ring I bought from you last December hasn’t left my finger since, and it’s a constant reminder of God’s love; that He cares about the things we care about, even if they’re little things.”

“I’ve been wearing [the necklaces] every day and it puts a smile on my face every time I notice them”

“Thank you for the beautiful bracelet. The truths of Psalm 23 have anchored me in [a time of] great sadness. May the Lord continue to bless your creativity.”

The cross necklace you made for my husband is also wonderful and looks really great on him, too. At the time I just went for the twisted and beaten look coz I thought it would look nice, but it’s a daily reminder of the twisted crown of thorns He wore and how His body was beaten for us. And it’s worn low by my husband’s heart; a reminder that the King of all kings made His home in our hearts.

It’s filled my heart with gratitude, it truly has!

I had goosebumps reading some of them. It’s always a happy moment when someone chooses to buy from Poema. (Honestly, the happy dance is real, believe me!)

And to hear the impact some of them have on you, my supporters and customers, brings an exceptional sweetness to my soul.

As you know, the word of God is at the heart of Poema, so it warms my soul to hear testimonies like these, affirming His promise of love and care for each one of us.

In other news, I will be taking a break for the next couple of weeks. Along with Mr Poema, I shall be spending some time relaxing in (hopefully) warm sunshine.

Once I return , I shall be letting you know my plans for the lead up to Christmas - yes I’m afraid we’ve reached that point of the year - eeek!
