There are two scriptures which form the foundation of Poema. The first is Ephesians 2:10:
'For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago'
In tandem with this verse 14 of Psalm 139:
'I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well.'
As someone who still wonders at the love and affection God has for me, these two verses of scripture are a continual reminder to me of that love and affection.
I wrote the words in this image several years ago and it has been displayed at each event I have attended with my work since then. And these words continue to be the bedrock of Poema about seven or eight years later.
Initially, most of my work openly bore the words of God: bracelets which take you through a prayer or journey of scripture, or plaques with bible verses, for example. Even with the word of God openly visible in those pieces, firmly at the heart of everything was the heart of love which our heavenly Father has for each and every one of us.
That's the reason why.
Even though recently my work has taken a slightly new direction with the addition of Jubilee Silver, the reason why remains the same.
If I am feeling caught up in the busyness of fulfilling an order;
if I am seeking inspiration to make something new;
if I am struggling to get to grips with the techy side of the business,
... reading this reminds me again of the reason why.
That whatever I make holds His words of abiding love at the very heart.
Each one of us is God's masterpiece,
each of us lovingly created,
each of us handcrafted with care.
