Donkeys, Daisies and Denim

These are a few of my favourite things, to quote a rather famous song lyric!

Oh, and bank holidays! 50% extra weekend - yay!

Hope you've enjoyed yours. We visited the New Forest and loved seeing so many animals roaming free - including a large number of donkeys! Which, in case there was any doubt, are one of my favourite animals!

However, this particular friendly face pictured here lives in Ireland, on a beautiful farm in Wexford, along with three other equally friendly long-eared lovelies, who we have visited on three occasions now and I'd go again in a heartbeat if I could!

Which is another one of my favourite things - Ireland. Strange to think that someone who loves warm and sunny rather than cold and rainy loves Ireland so much, but I really, really do.

And wherever I go, I love a lawn of daisies. What's not to love about these cheery little flowers? I have fond memories of making daisy chains when I was little - I'd try to make them as long as possible without breaking them. I remember making them in the garden, on the school field or on family picnics. Perhaps that's why I love them so much - they bring back childhood memories...

Talking of childhood memories, I was about 13 when I had a pair of jeans which I pretty much wore day-in, day-out for years! They were a lovely fit (an achievement, right ladies?!) and they had white piping down the outside leg seam. I LOVED them and I was so sad when they wore out!

I think I can date my lifelong love of denim from that particular pair of jeans. Jeans were and still are my go-to legwear on most occasions. My Dad was convinced I'd walk up the aisle on my wedding day in jeans. I didn't but I have to say, it was tempting!

I can safely add my new workspace to my list of favourite things!

Remember how excited I was about moving rooms around at home and the chaos it was creating? Well, we have now completed the project and I am happily situated in my lovely little room with the freedom to hammer and saw to my heart's content!

We already had all the furniture and storage, mostly from the kids rooms over the years, which meant costs were definitely kept to the minimum - even the laminate flooring and underlay has been relocated from downstairs!

It's just perfect and I can't help smiling whenever I see it!

There's definitely big plans for this little workspace and I'll keep telling you more!

We’re heading, perhaps reluctantly, into the final part of the year - and we all know where that leads us! Yes, as evenings become...
